Coming from the Art Nouveau movement, he developed a distinctive , constructive visual language during his artistic career, creating an impressive body of work comprising more than a thousand paintings, drawings, and watercolors. He studied at the École d’Art in La Chaux-de-Fonds and attended classes with Charles L’Eplattenier , a former student of Ferdinand Hodler .
