Scientific traineeship for Museum & Gallery (m\/f\/d)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Full-time & immediately<\/strong><\/p>\n

The non-profit messmer foundation<\/strong> was established by the former entrepreneur J\u00fcrgen Messmer and has been the sponsor of the kunsthalle messmer<\/strong> in Riegel am Kaiserstuhl, around 15 km north of Freiburg im Breisgau, since 2009.<\/p>\n

On approx. 900 square meters of exhibition space, the museum presents 3 – 5 temporary exhibitions on classical modern and contemporary art every year.<\/p>\n

In addition to the kunsthalle messmer <\/strong>, the same building has also housed the GALERIE MESSMER <\/strong>since 2013. While the kunsthalle focuses on museum work, the gallery is primarily concerned with the art trade.<\/p>\n

We are now offering a full-time scientific traineeship for one year with an option to extend<\/strong> it by another year with remuneration. Above all, you will support the exhibitions taking place in the Kunsthalle and gallery during this period, as well as day-to-day operations. As part of a small team, we offer you an insight into all areas of our work.<\/p>\n

  • Exhibition organization<\/li>\n
  • Press & public relations work<\/li>\n
  • Exhibition marketing<\/li>\n
  • Visitor support, front desk and museum store administration<\/li>\n
  • Event\/opening planning<\/li>\n
  • Art education\/guided tours<\/li>\n
  • Social media and newsletter<\/li>\n
  • Collection management<\/li>\n
  • Art sale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What you bring with you: <\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • A university degree with a focus on art history or equivalent.<\/li>\n
    • Experience in the art trade or museum sector (an advantage)<\/li>\n
    • You are communicative and show above-average commitment<\/li>\n
    • A structured, very careful way of working and the ability to work under pressure in stressful situations<\/li>\n
    • Good knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook<\/li>\n
    • Foreign language skills in English and\/or French<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
