In addition to his artistic work, his legacy also includes writings on art theory.<\/p>\n<p>born <strong>1879<\/strong> in M\u00fcnchenbuchsee<br \/>died <strong>1940<\/strong> Muralto<br \/><strong>1900<\/strong> Studies at the Munich Academy<br \/><strong>1901-1902<\/strong> study trip to Rome<br \/><strong>1902-1906<\/strong> Klee lives again in Bern, where he creates his first reverse glass paintings and other etchings.<br \/><strong>1908<\/strong> exhibition at the Munich and Berlin Secession. Acquaintance with Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc and Hans Arp.<br \/><strong>1912<\/strong> Participation in the second Blue Rider exhibition. Klee associates with Alexej von Jawlensky, Rainer Maria Rilke and Herwarth Walden (1878-1941).<br \/>Visits the Kahnweiler gallery in Paris, where he sees paintings by Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque (1882-1963) and Henri Matisse (1869-1954).<br \/><strong>1913<\/strong> Klee exhibits at the First German Autumn Salon. Beginning of watercolor painting.<br \/><strong>1914<\/strong> trip to Tunisia with August Macke and Louis Ren\u00e9 Moilliet (1880-1992).<br \/><strong>1916-1918<\/strong> After infantry training, Klee does his military service in the aviation department in Schlei\u00dfheim near Munich and in Gersthofen.<br \/><strong>1920<\/strong> Walter Gropius calls Klee to the Bauhaus in Weimar, where he first teaches as a form master and then in a painting class. Exhibition of 362 of his works at Goltz in Munich.<br \/><strong>1924<\/strong> First Klee exhibition in New York.<br \/><strong>1925<\/strong> Relocation with the Bauhaus to Dessau.<br \/>Participation in the first group exhibition of the &#8220;peinture surr\u00e9aliste&#8221; in Paris, with Max Ernst, Joan Mir\u00f3 (1893-1983) and Picasso, among others.<br \/><strong>1926<\/strong> Klee founds the &#8220;Blue Four&#8221; with Kandinsky, Lyonel Feininger and Jawlensky. He mainly paints constructive and absolute pictures.<br \/><strong>1928<\/strong> trip to Egypt.<br \/><strong>1931<\/strong> professorship at the D\u00fcsseldorf Art Academy.<br \/><strong>1933<\/strong> Under pressure from the National Socialists, Klee is dismissed from teaching.<br \/>Move to Berne.<br \/><strong>1935<\/strong> First signs of the deadly disease (scleroderma).<br \/>Klee exhibitions in Bern and Basel.<br \/><strong>1937<\/strong> The National Socialists defame Klee&#8217;s art as &#8220;degenerate&#8221; and confiscate 102 of his works from German museums. 17 of them are shown in the exhibition &#8220;Degenerate Art&#8221;.<br \/><strong>June 29, 1940<\/strong> Paul Klee dies in Muralto im Tess<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The German painter and graphic artist Paul Klee was an artist with a wide range of interests, who occupies a prominent place in the ranks of well-known artists of Expressionism, Constructivism and Surrealism.
