Jean Leppien, d’abord appel\u00e9 Kurt Leppien, a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 \u00e0 l’Universit\u00e9 Bauhaus de Dessau en tant qu’\u00e9l\u00e8ve de Josef Albers, Wassily Kandinsky et Paul Klee. Il \u00e9migre \u00e0 Paris en 1933 et interrompt son travail artistique pendant les ann\u00e9es de guerre. Malheureusement, ses \u0153uvres cr\u00e9\u00e9es jusqu’en 1945 ont \u00e9t\u00e9 perdues ou d\u00e9truites. Ce n’est qu’apr\u00e8s la Seconde Guerre mondiale qu’il a pu entamer sa v\u00e9ritable carri\u00e8re artistique, marqu\u00e9e tout au long de sa vie par son premier s\u00e9jour \u00e0 Dessau. Des influences de l’\u00c9cole de Paris se retrouvent \u00e9galement dans son travail, une direction \u00e0 laquelle appartenaient de nombreux artistes d’apr\u00e8s-guerre. Il se concentre sur la peinture abstraite g\u00e9om\u00e9trique.<\/p>\n
