Jaap Egmond

Jaap Egmond was born in New York; however, his family moved to Amsterdam shortly after his birth. After graduating from university, Jaap Egmond worked as an art teacher for almost thirty years. In 1960 he began his artistic career. His art consists of white, geometric and abstract compositions. At the beginning of his artistic career he mostly created reliefs out of cardboard. Later he also made reliefs and sculptures from steel and Plexiglas. It was not until the end of his career that he began to use colors.
