Rolf Schneebeli can be described as a rediscovered artist.
The works of the trained graphic artist are derived from halftone printing. Early works are shown as early as 1969 on the occasion of the exhibition Zurich Artists / Concrete and Fantastic Directions” in the Helmhaus Zurich, curated by Max Bill. From 2004 he continued to develop these grids for static or moving images. The fascination with movement makes space an important factor in his works. Through the variety of his oeuvre of painted pictures, pictures provided with electric motors, or object boxes that can be rotated by hand, he impressively visualizes the process of dynamizing the pictorial space.
