As one of the most important and versatile contemporary artists, Otmar Alt has been inspiring people with his colorful and imaginative visual language for decades. The messmer art gallery is presenting around 120 works from all of the German artist’s creative periods, thereby providing an exclusive insight into Otmar Alt’s entire oeuvre.

Alt’s works arouse curiosity through their special, often “puzzle-like” design and invite the viewer into a fantasy world that he should discover and interpret individually with a personal view. The title of the pictures usually creates a possible access to the pictures and thus a scope for interpretation.

In this exhibition you follow the traces of Otmar Alt’s life and are surprised by the expressive colors of powerful motifs.

A special Easter family tour took place for the first time on Easter Saturday. The art of Otmar Alt was brought closer to the art of Otmar Alt to the little visitors from the age of 5 in a playful way and encouraged to actively participate in the art. In addition to coloring pictures, the little ones could put together their own work of art from puzzle pieces and paint their very own interpretation of the duck fox salad and puffer animal at the end.

The messmer art gallery team would like to thank the dedicated little visitors and their parents for the large number of participants and the great interest!
